New European team to start dialogues with neighbouring countries

As closer cooperation in the energy sector will bring about mutual benefits for all parties, Agora Energiewende has set up a new European team. On January 1st three additional senior experts from Poland, France/Switzerland and Austria joined Agora.

With their rich experience and expertise in energy policies Agora will initiate dialogues with a broad range of stakeholders and decision makers in Germany and its neighbouring countries in order to enhance mutual understanding, identify upcoming challenges and develop joint solutions. Moreover, the team will commission economic, technical and policy-oriented research in order to shed light on electricity-related issues and create in-depth knowledge as prerequisites for closer cooperation.   Although the medium term goal is to propose European-wide solutions, there lies great value in starting to develop and test economic and policy opportunities on the regional level. Aiming at the most cost-efficient, sustainable and secure ways to transform the electricity system Agora’s team Europe will provide clear and factual information about the German energy transition for European partners, and – vice versa – bring a more European perspective into the German energy debate.
