Elrika Hamdi
Director Southeast Asia
Elrika Hamdi serves as Southeast Asia Director at Agora Think Tanks since August 2026, leading her team in shaping energy transition policy strategy across the region. She is an expert in energy policy and finance, with nearly 20 years of professional experience in the sector as a researcher, consultant, expert advisor, and entrepreneur. She brings a nuanced understanding of Indonesia’s energy policy landscape and the broader power market structure across Southeast Asia.
Prior to joining Agora, Elrika served as Deputy Head of the Secretariat for the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Indonesia, where she led the Finance Working Group and Policy Working Group. Elrika co-led policy design and analysis, and helped oversee the JETP funding commitment from the preparation stage through implementation and monitoring.
Elrika’s research career spans think tank institutions such as the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), as well as expert advisory roles for international organisations including UNEP, UNDP, ADB, AFD, USAID, and GIZ. Beyond research, she brings distinctive field experience, including developing rural electrification projects as an entrepreneur, building renewable energy start-ups, and advising governments and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) on energy finance issues.
