Dr. Elisabetta Cornago

Elisabetta Cornago is Senior Associate EU Energy Policy at Agora Energiewende in Brussels, where she has worked since summer 2026 on EU power markets and on the policy and governance framework the EU needs to meet its 2040 climate goals.

Previously, she spent five years at the Centre for European Reform in Brussels, where as Assistant Director she led work on EU energy and climate policy from an economic perspective, including power market design, the economic and policy fallout of successive energy crises, and the EU emissions trading scheme and carbon border adjustment mechanism. Between 2015 and 2021, she worked as an environmental economist at the OECD and an energy policy analyst at the International Energy Agency.

She holds a PhD and MA in economics from Université Libre de Bruxelles and a BA in economics and public management from Università Bocconi.
