Akbota Imasheva
Officer Project Controlling and Grant Management
Akbota Imasheva is an Officer for Project Controlling and Grant Management at Agora Think Tanks (Agora Energiewende, Agora Industrie and Agora Agrar), supporting the Finance and Controlling team. Based in Berlin, she is primarily responsible for programs in Europe.
Prior to joining Agora, Akbota worked in financial planning and analysis at Zalando SE, supporting logistic infrastructure extension. Previously, she has also worked for Chevron and the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, Arepo Consult in Berlin, the World Bank in Washington D.C., and the Embassy of Canada to Germany. She has experience in grants management, research, project controlling across diverse sectors, including oil and gas, international development cooperation, gender equality, renewable energy and foreign direct investment.
Akbota holds a master's degree in International and Development Economics from HTW Berlin and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance, with additional training in sustainability and climate risks and investing.
