Neha Tiple

Neha Tiple works as a Senior Research Associate at World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), India. Her core competencies lie in the fields of energy system modelling, policy advocacy, energy transition and climate finance. At WISE, she focusses on policy mechanisms and business models to support the deployment of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency.  Before joining WISE in 2016, she worked as a research consultant at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) where she provided technical expertise for design and development of renewable energy projects by ensuring acceptability of budgets and timelines and conformance to federal and state laws.

Neha is an Electrical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy from the National Institute of Technology in Jaipur, India. She proposed a ‘Risk constrained short term trading decision making for a wind power producer under renewable energy policy framework' as her master’s thesis. Neha’s area of interest lies in the development of smart markets to absorb flexible generation efficiently and she wants to further pursue her research addressing the trilemma of energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability.

At Agora Energiewende, she is researching on innovative mechanism to mobilise climate finance to support and accelerate India’s INDC targets. The goal is to reduce the emissions intensity of its gross domestic product (GDP) by 33 to 35 per cent by 2030 compared to the 2005 level.
