Zhou Yang

Advisor China

Zhou Yang is based in Beijing and works as Advisor China at Agora Energiewende. Before joining Agora Energiewende, Zhou worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council Beijing Office for three years on the Oil Cap Project and Coal Cap Project. She worked closely with the Chinese government, industry associations, and research institutes to support programmes on China's fossil fuel reduction, energy transition, and climate mitigation. Her work focused on pilot projects with local partners on supporting energy transition in provinces and cities. Prior to joining NRDC, Zhou was with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C., where she conducted research and prepared publications on China’s energy-water nexus issues.

Zhou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Diplomacy from Renmin University of China, and a Master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Policy from University of Maryland (UMD).
