Niels Wauer
Project Officer Economy of the Energy Transition
Niels Wauer works as a Project Officer at Agora Energiewende, focusing on overarching economic issues of the energy transition.
Before joining Agora Energiewende, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Universität Leipzig and the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung (UFZ) on the design of green economic stimulus and investment programs. During his studies, he also assisted in the preparation of the Energiepreisbericht Baden-Württemberg at the Leipziger Institut für Energie GmbH.
Niels Wauer studied a B.Sc. in Economics in Berlin and M.Sc. in Economics in Leipzig with a focus on environment and sustainability. As part of his master's thesis, he analyzed the influence of bid-preparation costs on onshore wind auctions.
